Woman accused of stabbing sister in heart after she flirted with her boyfriend

A woman has been charged with murder after she is alleged to have stabbed her sister to death when she flirted with her boyfriend.

Police say Fatiha Marzan, 21, killed her 20-year-old sister Sayma in the bedroom they shared together in Orlando, Florida, on September 26.

She was charged with first-degree murder and is said to have confessed more than once to stabbing her sister in the heart multiple times.

According to The Orlando Sentinel, Fathia is alleged to have killed her sister after her long-distance boyfriend flirted with Sayma and told her he loved her as they played the game Valorant online together.

In an arrest affidavit, a chilling description of the alleged events said Sayma woke up during the attack.

It is believed the time of death occurred in the early hours as the alleged killer knew that the rest of the family would be asleep at the time.

It read: "On September 26, 2022, Fatiha chose the time 0430hours, because everyone in her household was asleep.

"Fatiha said Sayma was asleep in their bed that they shared when she began to stab her in her heart. Fatiha admitted to stabbing her three to four times specifically in Sayma's heart.

"Sayma woke up and said "What the f**k?" and the word "help." Fatiha replied, "Stop." Sayma then uttered, "She was moving too much."

Fatiha, currently held in jail without the possibility of bail, and her boyfriend had reportedly been together for five years at the time of her sister's death.

Authorities allege the killing in the Orange County home was pre-planned and Fatiha had bought a "dagger style" knife set from online retailer Amazon just weeks before.

The affidavit claimed that Fatiha hid the knife set in her closet in one of her backpacks.

It added: "Fatiha knew she had to wait until her family was asleep to stab Sayma because she did not want anyone to hear the incident.

"Fatiha consciously decided to kill her sister, Sayma, and the decision was present in her mind at the time of the killing."

Sayma died at around 4:30am and it wasn't until 15 hours later that police were called to the house after Fatiha reported the body.

The affidavit also said Fatiha told an officer she had considered taking her own life in the hours after Sayma's death, but had been talked out of doing so by another family member.
