Woman and baby stabbed in west London in broad daylight

A woman and a baby have been stabbed during an attack in west London.

Police were called to a property in Swinfield Close, Feltham, shortly after 7pm on Monday evening, Scotland Yard said.

A woman and an infant were found at the scene suffering from stab injuries and were taken to a west London hospital.

In a statement on Twitter, Hounslow Police described the condition of both victims as “serious but stable”.

Officers remain at the scene and no arrests have been made.

London's Air Ambulance also attended the incident and is understood to have landed on the grounds of a nearby school.

One local resident said the Oriel estate, on which Swinfield Close is located, had been put on “lockdown” as police hunted a suspect.

“I live right where it happened. We have been told by police to stay in and lock doors as a man is still on the loose,” they told Get West London.

“The estate is taped off, and there is an armed response present.”
