WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 LIVE recap RESULTS: Ronda Rousey stunned by shock appearance as new champs crowned

Two title matches were held inside WWE's dreaded Elimination Chamber and both created truly memorable moments.

Daniel Bryan put his WWE Championship on the line against AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Samoa Joe and Kofi Kingston in about full of drama, with an emotional ending.

Meanwhile, the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions were crowned earlier in the evening, as six duos competed inside the brutal steel structure.

Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey faced Ruby Riott, but the real story was what happened after their match, as the Road to WrestleMania burst into life.

Our man Neil Docking delivered all the action as it happened in Houston, Texas and you can relive it here now. Oh and that’s the bottom line, because Mirror Sport said so!

Goodnight wrestling fans

Well, that was an exhilarating finish to top off a good pay-per-view. The WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match took a while to get going, but eventually it matched the women’s tag titles version earlier in the evening thanks to the ability of Bryan and Kofi to tell one hell of a story.

Aside from that, the biggest talking point of the night had to be Becky Lynch destroying Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair with her crutches. With this build, there’s no doubt The Man is heading for the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Thanks for following all my updates - don’t forget to give me a follow @neildocking if you’ve enjoyed my coverage of Elimination Chamber.

Goodnight!

Bryan vs Kingston at WrestleMania?

That was emotional. Could Kofi Kingston have booked himself into a WrestleMania showdown with Daniel Bryan? We can only hope.

"Thank you Kofi"

The New Day emerge and a “thank you Kofi” chant rings out. Big E says he deserves it.

What a performance. A standing ovation for the veteran. Nice ending to the event.

Daniel Bryan retains the WWE Championship

Kofi kicks Bryan down onto a turnbuckle and then to the canvas!

Kofi stands tall - frog splash! He crashes and burns, nobody was home as Bryan rolled out of the way!

HUGE running knee by the champion. Daniel Bryan retains the WWE Championship.

What a great finale that was. Huge credit to both men. Top notch storytelling.

You can feel the tension!

Not sure why a rope break counts in a chamber match but it did. “This is awesome” chants.

Kofi climbs up with Bryan on a top turnbuckle, resists being kicked down, and Bryan heads to the roof of a pod.

Kingston is smashing Bryan’s head into a plastic chamber wall. What does he have in mind here?!

Bryan blocks a suplex, what is going to happen next? You can feel the tension!

Kingston survives!

Bryan is measuring up the wounded Kingston and hits his running knee, but Kofi kicks out! The fans have come unglued in the Toyota Center.

Bryan shakes his head. Kofi is yet to get back to his feet. He stomps on his head again and again. The challenger is helpless.

He goes for the cover, but Kingston kicks out! Trouble in Paradise! Bryan switches the cover, Kofi gets a foot on the rope, Labelle Lock!

He wrenches at the head of the veteran, can he hang on? Yes, he survives!

Kofi, Kofi, Kofi!

Both men get to their feet. Bryan hides outside the ropes. Kofi pursues him.

They both slam each other into the chains of the chamber wall, Kingston getting the upper hand and doing it repeatedly.

Wow! Kofi tries a bulldog but Bryan drives him into a pod with a crash. Is that the end of his fairytale bid to win the title?

Crowd on fire for Kingston

Yes kicks in the corner by the champion. Running dropkicks. These are so good. Bryan is a master.

Kingston keeps getting back up! Running footstomp! Nearfall!

The crowd is so hot for this now. What a finish to this match and this pay-per-view! Can Kingston do the unthinkable?!

Come on Kofi!

Bryan and Kofi trade kicks, the champion unleashes Yes kicks.

Kofi ducks a Yes kick, and hits SOS! Bryan kicks out! Great nearfall!

The crowd has come alive for this now. Come on Kofi!

Here’s that great RKO.

Kingston eliminates Orton!

Kingston and Orton go at it. Trouble in Paradise evaded by The Viper. Draping DDT in the corner on Kingston. He is loving this and has a sick smile on his face.

He calls for an RKO. Bryan runs at him and he hits a snap powerslam. Trouble in Paradise! Kingston eliminates Orton!

An RKO eliminates AJ Styles!

A couple of moments aside, this has felt a bit flat so far. Everyone is down and out.

Randy Orton emerges and goes after Kingston and Styles.

He goes for an RKO on Bryan, it’s reversed into a backslide, he hangs Daniel on the top rope, but Kofi hits a single leg dropkick.

Styles with a backbreaker on Kofi. He calls for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Orton grabs him by the neck and drags him off the top rope into an RKO!

AJ is eliminated by Orton! Cool spot - a bit different to the usual one midair.

Jeff Hardy joins the match... and is eliminated!

Jeff Hardy joins the match and attacks Kingston and Bryan.

He and Styles climb up a turnbuckle by a pod. Jeff kicks AJ down, who falls nastily. That looked like a botch. Jeff landed on his feet.

Hardy goes up top again onto the pod and hits a Swanton Bomb onto AJ’s back, as he lays across the turnbuckle. Great spot. Jeff is a madman.

Jeff gets to his feet and Bryan hits a knee and eliminates him!

AJ hits a German on Kingston and Bryan off the top turnbuckle.

Styles with a Phenomenal Forearm eliminates Samoa Joe!

Bryan climbs the chamber wall, but Styles hits a Phenomenal Forearm to his back! That was cool.

Kingston blocks a Styles Clash, but eats an ushigoroshi from AJ.

Coquina Clutch locked in by Joe on Kofi, but he manages to escape.

Styles with a Phenomenal Forearm eliminates Samoa Joe! Some boos. Why won’t they push Joe?

AJ Styles is next out

Joe also kicks out of a pin attempt by Kingston.

Now the fan favourite targets Bryan, but Joe intervenes and flattens him, then drops a big running senton on Bryan.

Suplex on Kingston for a two count. He lights up Bryan with more chops. AJ Styles joins the match and attacks his nemesis Joe!

AJ with a clothesline on Joe, then focuses on the man who stole his title, Bryan. Moonsault then a double inverted DDT on Bryan and Kofi!

Kingston kicks out. “AJ Styles” chants. Forearm smash on Joe.

Here’s Kofi Kingston doing Kofi Kingston things:

Go Kofi go!

Kofi Kingston joins the fray. Springboard attack on Bryan, kick to the face on Joe, frog splash on his back, two count.

Bryan plants him on the top rope. He drops a knee on the back of his head from the top turnbuckle.

Joe hits a wicked chop on Bryan and he falls over. He runs away, climbs up onto a pod and hides.

Kofi drives his shoulder into Joe in a corner but probably regrets it. He slings Kingston into a corner where Bryan is hiding and The New Day man leap up on top of the pod! He starts to lay into the WWE Champion.

Bryan tries to escape walking along a cross beam on the chamber wall. Joe starts to climb. He yanks down Bryan. Kingston kicks him down. He drops off the wall onto both men below! Cover, but Bryan kicks out.

Wince

Bryan and Joe start things off, as Bryan tries to kick Joe and he laughs it off. The big man responds with vicious kicks that drop the champion and goes for an ankle lock.

Daniel gets to his feet and chops Joe. Big mistake. He chases the champion and chops him against the chamber wall.

Powerbomb then a Boston crab. Now an STF, but the champion worms free.

They trade chops. Joe is pulverising Bryan. Some of these chops are making me wince!

The Planet's Champion

Daniel Bryan emerges with Rowan and rants about the odds being stacked against him, before a referee bans Rowan from ringside.

That angers the WWE Champion even further. He says the only thing that gives him hope is the people need him and so does the planet.

Joe, Joe, Joe!

Samoa Joe makes his presence felt and threatens Kofi Kingston before the Elimination Chamber match begins. How cool to get to see him and Daniel Bryan square off.

They don't want none

AJ Styles enters the fourth pod. That means Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan will start the match.

We know that Orton because of his gauntlet match victory on SmackDown will be the last entrant.

The Charismatic Enigma

Jeff Hardy hits the ring. Can’t wait to see him and Orton go at it again - their Hell in a Cell match last year was BRUTAL

Can Kofi upset the odds?

It’s time for the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship!

Kofi Kingston and his pals in The New Day is out first.

The Miz versus Shane McMahon at Mania?

Backstage in the physio’s room, The Miz rants about letting him and Shane McMahon down, as Shane receives treatment from medics.

Shane tells him to calm down and says he needs to leave. He says he’ll see him on Tuesday. Is this leading to a match between the pair at Mania?

Back in the arena, Lacey Evans’ music hits and she makes her way out, then gets off again. Hmmm, that was odd.

Baron Corbin defeats Braun Strowman

McIntyre hits a Claymore Kick. They’ve stacked two tables on top of each other.

Corbin, McIntyre and Lashley hit a Shield style powerbomb on Strowman off the steps through two tables!

Baron Corbin gets the pinfall and the victory. That was a cool spot, but no one in the crowd seems to care.

For me, that has to be attributed to the poor booking of Strowman over this past year. He was such a hot act but has gone so stale.

The Scottish Psychopath and The Destroyer intervene

Corbin smashes Strowman in the face with steel steps and mocks his primal roar.

The big man recovers and drives Corbin through a table.

Drew McIntyre’s music hits (as predicted), then as he approaches the ring with a chair, Lashley appears and cracks a chair over Braun’s back.

Strowman manages to drop Lashley but Drew attacks and then Lashley spears him. Things are going from bad to worse for Strowman.

They collect two sets of ring steps, as Braun manages to attack both of the intervening parties, but is hit in the back with a chair by Baron.

Now they’re getting two tables...

“I don’t need a kendo stick to whip your ass”

It’s time for the No DQ match between Braun Strowman and Baron Corbin.

The former acting Raw general manager attacks the Monster Among Men with a kendo stick. He needs an equaliser against this brute.

Strowman fights back with a running splash, grabs a kendo stick after teasing Baron that he might need it, then yells “I don’t need a kendo stick to whip your ass” and snaps it in half.

Corbin retreats and Strowman runs around the ring and smashes him into a barricade. He lethargically runs all the way round again, catches a chair Corbin throws at him, but charges and when Baron sidesteps, falls into steel steps.

Becky Lynch lays waste to Ronda Rousey!

Becky offers Rousey the chance to attack Flair, then instead lays into Ronda when she turns her back!

She beats the hell out of both women with a crutch! Rousey tries to protect herself with the other crutch, but no one can stop The Man!

Finally referees and officials call time on the beatdown. That was savage and the fans loved it. The shots with the crutch were ferocious - Rousey and Flair will have some bruises tomorrow!

Just a shame that couldn’t follow a competitive bout or even an intense squash match beforehand.

Becky Lynch attacks Charlotte Flair with a crutch

Post-match, Rousey and Flair stare each other down in the ring.

Becky Lynch appears on two crutches. Loud “Becky” chants.

She manages to get in the ring but she can barely stand.

The commentators talk about how she is suspended and should not be here.

Flair mocks her. Becky attacks Charlotte with one of her crutches. She beats down The Queen.
