McIntyre successfully defended his Raw Tag Team Championship alongside partner Dolph Ziggler against Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins.
The Scot was hailed by WWE fans for his performance in the match – which saw the 6ft 5in, 265lb, powerhouse fly around the ring.
He returned to WWE back in 2017 with developmental brand NXT after spending three years away honing his craft on the independent scene.
When he left WWE he was right at the bottom of the card, and now WWE fans are convinced he is the next big thing.
Fans took to social media to pile praise onto McIntyre as Hell in a Cell continues from San Antonio,
“Best match of the night. I am so impressed with Drew McIntyre”WWE fan
One WWE fan said: “He is destined to become WWE Champion at some time. Impressive stuff”.
Another added “Drew McIntyre will be a world champion by next summer” and another said “Best match of the night. I am so impressed with Drew McIntyre”.
"I don't watch RAW anymore but Drew McIntyre is just such a star. This guy would be such a great Universal Champion I think,” one fan added.
And another said: "Drew McIntyre is definitely a future World or Universal Champion.”
McIntyre left WWE when he was a member of comedy act 3MB – alongside Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal.
He initially debuted to much fanfare, but didn’t live up to his own hype despite being branded the “Chosen One”.
Since returning he has developed a brutal mean streak and has honed his physique and in-ring style.
The 33-year-old won the NXT Championship when he returned to WWE, and graduated to RAW earlier this year in the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-up.
