Former Asante Kotoko forward Augustine Okrah opened his account in Tanzania on Wednesday afternoon after scoring in Simba SC”s opening league game of the 2022/23 season.
Okrah, who joined the Tanzanian giants during this transfer window, was in great form in this afternoon’s fixture in front of the home fans of Simba SC.
He opened the scoring in the 37th minute as Simba coasted to a comfortable 3-0 home win over Geita Gold FC in their first game of the season.
Okrah, was rated at 8.3 in this fixture played in front of a very passionate Simba SC home crowd as they moved top of the standing after the opening round of matches.
The former Bechem United player will look to build on this performance for the reminder of the campaign as Simba chase yet, another top-flight title in the Tanzanian championship.
They will be hoping to wrestle the title from rivals Young Africans who won the diadem last season.
Simba SC and Yanga, are the co-favourites to win this season’s competition and, both will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League which begins in September.
