Former ODM Governor Weighs In On Ruto’s Nyanza Visit & How It Will Shift Future Politics Of Nyanza

Today the former Governor for Migori county has weighed in concerning President Ruto’s two day visit of Nyanza region. The President who started his two day tour of Nyanza region yesterday will today be concluding his visit in Kisumu county and Siaya.

The head of state is expected to launch new development projects in the region and also continue the stalled projects in the region. The President was yesterday in Homabay county where he met the leaders of the region and commissioned new projects in the region.

Former Migori county and a strong supporter of Raila has today commented on Ruto’s visit of Nyanza and said that it is time for things to change in the region. According to the former Governor, the fact that Kenya is a democratic country means that every party should be able to thrive in the region and not just one party.

Nyanza region which many have called Raila’s bedroom has for many years been a region dominated by the Orange Democratic Party and not any other party. The former Governor has stated why it is important that Nyanza region should be able to open up to many political parties and not just one party as has been the norm.

Speaking about the future of Nyanza politics, the Governor has stated that the future of politics in the region is a bright one and that he is looking forward to a more democratic Nyanza where not only one person will be seen as the Kingpin and most qualified than the rest.
