Law maker for Adansi Asokwa, K.T Hammond has been trending the entire day because of certain comments he made about the youth in Ghana. Though he might have meant no harm, his comments sent a bad signal to many Ghanaians for an elderly person that he is. K. T Hammond noted that the youth should be patient with the president and desist from embarrassing him with chants and boos.
He explained that the youth with coconut heads have no sense and are not fit to lead. He condemned the verbal attacks made at the president. According to him it is not possible to leave governance in the hands of the youth who go about in beards but have no sense. This comment has received backlash from Ghanaians especially from the youth.
On UTV news tonight, Opare Addo, the NDC National Youth Organizer called on the NPP leadership and K.T Hammond to apologize to the youth for those comments. He called for a disclaimer from the party regarding the comments made by their member. According to Opare Addo it is outrageous that the President will say he believes in the youth while his MP will say the opposite.
Opare Addo mentioned that the youth will vote massively for the NDC if the MP fails to apologize to them for the offensive comments. The host asked Opare Addo if he is pissed the more because K.T Hammond hit hard at young men with beard and have little sense. According to Opare Addo he also has beard but that is not the reason why he is offended by the comments of the MP. He called on the youth to make the NPP pay if they refuse to apologize by voting for the NDC.
