Mahama Girl Trolled Over Car ‘Bribe’ Comment

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, an aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, was caught in the crossfire yesterday with tweeps of media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah over a picture of one of the salon cars supplied by the NDC in 2012 to lure University of Ghana students.

On September 25, 2023, Nana Aba Anamoah posted the picture with the caption: “In 2012, by this time, the NDC was distributing this car on the Legon campus. Ironically, none of the male students got one.”

This upset the ex-President’s aide, who reprimanded the TV personality and questioned her motives.

Joyce wrote, “What’s the intent? Shame NDC ladies under a guised tweet because some are being criticised for the silence in the face of today’s hardship & poor leadership? This shouldn’t be coming from you, my sister. An avoidable tweet!”

Net Critics

The flood of comments began soon after Joyce retorted, with one of the critics quizzing, “Are you unhappy about your past? I thought you would state that this didn’t happen. Attempting to rope in women won’t wash.”

Some others who disagreed with Joyce Bawah’s censure, asserted that politicians only criticise others and not their parties’ corrupt activities, while tweeps saw nothing wrong with Nana Aba’s post.

One user with account name @FellowPatriot referred Joyce Bawah to the 2020 electioneering campaign when she accused the Akufo-Addo government of sharing cars to key stakeholders.

At the time of filing this report, the post by Nana Aba Anamoah had received 565,000 views, 482 reposts, 136 quotes, 4,566 likes and 28 bookmarks.
