NEMA distributes drugs to Kano hospitals

The National Emergency Management Agency distributed drugs to four hospitals in Kano State to support flood victims and other emergencies.

NEMA Director-General Mustapha Habib-Ahmed announced that Map International had donated the supplies to the Kano hospitals as he handed them out.

According to Habib-Ahmed, who was represented by Nuraddeen Abdullahi, NEMA Coordinator for the Kano and Jigawa Territorial Office, the donation was made to support the efforts of the federal government to provide high-quality treatment to victims of floods, kidnappings, and banditry.

He included the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Bichi General Hospital, Wudil General Hospital, and Karaye General Hospital as benefiting hospitals.

Prenatal micronutrient supplement X100, a knee walker, a syringe, 500mg of krill oil, eyeglasses, a respirator, a lancet pro-care, bactine spray, a disposable barrier robe, and sharp collector were just a few of the supplies supplied.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje praised NEMA for their assistance and urged recipients to use the supplies responsibly in his remarks.

Saleh Jili, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Emergency Management Agency, spoke on behalf of Ganduje when he advocated for ongoing collaboration between SEMA and NEMA.

He gave the public the advice to handle fire with caution and turn off electrical appliances while not in use, especially ladies who use firewood, cooking gas, and charcoal.

In order to prevent flooding, Ganduje also urged locals to refrain from careless trash disposal and to regularly clear drainage systems.

In response, Nasiru Alhassan-Kabo, Director of the Hospital Management Board in Kano State, praised NEMA for the thoughtful act.

The hospital management board’s deputy director, Ibrahim Abdullahi, spoke on behalf of Alhassan-Kabo and stated that the equipment would be used properly.
