The Northern Regional Minister, Shani Alhassan Shaibu has been honoured by DirectAid (an institution that takes care of the needy in society, the sick, orphans, victims of disaster, and famines) for his exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of the Northern Region.
A certificate of Honour was presented to the Minister by the Director of Abubakari Sadique Institute (DirectAid branch in Tamale) Mr. Mahamud Iddris Ismail at the Abubakari Sadiq Institute annual event.
Hon. Shani Alhassan Shaibu thanked them for the honour and urged them to hold peace as it forms an integral part of every organization.
He assured them that, his office is open and willing to support the organization to achieve its vision in the region.
Hon Shaibu pledged to provide Clothing and food for both day and boarding students in the Abubakari Sadiq Institute.
He reiterated the government’s resolve to accelerate the use of such interventions to provide services at all levels, protect our people, shelter them with the provision of infrastructure and enhance capacity building and skills acquisition for our youth.
The Annual Event
According to Mr. Ismail, the event by Abubakari Sadiq Institute Ghana is organized annually to help the needy in the Holy month of Ramadan.
This year's event amongst other things, donated items including Rice, oil, Tin tomatoes, Teabags to over 1250 persons including women entrepreneurs, teachers, students, persons with disabilities, head porters, school dropouts among others.
According to the Director, Mr. Mahamud Iddris Ismail, the organization will put up three (3) story building, a hospital, and boreholes before the next month of Ramadan next year.
He thanked the Northern Regional Minister and Norther Regional Coordinating Council for their support, adding that, they will pay a courtesy call on the Minister for further engagements.
