The President is sounding more partisan than being nationalistic – Johnny Hughes.

The current situation in the country is not the best. We are going through a torrid time in terms of our economic growth. But the way the leadership of the country and some government appointees talk sometimes leave a lot to be desired. This is a time for us all to come together and think about the way forward. It doesn’t help if those in authority tend to ignore the red flags being raised by well-meaning Ghanaians about our situation. Johnny Hughes in today’s edition of ‘Johnnies bites’ alluded to the fact that the president of the Republic is sounding more partisan.

Johnny said that in response to the president’s address in one of the Nothern regions where he said he is not going to bulge into the demands of people asking him to reshuffle his ministers. He said the people calling for the reshuffle are those who don’t have a job and are seeking to destabilise his government. Really? I was disappointed in such a response from the President. I couldn’t have agreed more with Johnny Hughes. The president said in that address that his ministers have performed admirably and do not see the need in changing them.

I don’t know what the President is seeing because we the citizens can’t see that. It has become obvious that some of the ministers are not performing. They have been embroiled in all sorts of scandals yet the president sees them worthy. It is an open secret that when you stay in one place for long, you become bereft of ideas. Things haven’t gone according to plan and there must be some shakes to invigorate the nation.

Enough of the blame game. Let’s get to work and turn the fortunes of this country around. We can’t sit down and watch unconcerned. Let’s get to work now.
