During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to shooting the men. He claimed that he was contacted by a Macushi man called “Jackie Chan”, from Brazil who offered him $2 million to kill De Souza and De Silva.
He further claimed that the man told him that the two men had murdered his son at a backdam in Brazil.
After accepting the job, the suspect related that he armed himself with a 20-gauge shotgun, went to the mining camp, and shot the two men. The Macushi man, he noted, was with him at the time he committed the act.
