Police raid hideout of 'Bigga Crime', seize guns and ammunition

By Kimone Witter

The police on Thursday seized three firearms and 129 rounds of ammunition from the hideout of one of Jamaica's most wanted criminals, Nesta Morrison.

Several items including cellular phones, counterfeit US currency, bank cards and food items were also seized during a raid in Eleven Miles, Bull Bay, St. Thomas.

Inspector Shaunjaye Mitchell from the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Corporate Communications Unit said members of the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force went in search of Morrison, also known as Bigga Crime, about 5:30 p.m.

"We came upon a location and a quick search of the location revealed that, apparently, he had just left that location, leaving behind three firearms, including two high powered rifles – that’s two M16 rifles and a handgun."

Inspector Mitchell said military paraphernalia, clothes and a mattress were also found at the location.

Morrison is wanted for a double murder, shooting and arson.

He is being encouraged to surrender to the police.

Inspector Mitchell also urged any member of the public with information on Morrison's whereabouts to contact the police or Crime Stop at 311.

"He’s considered to be extremely dangerous and as such, we have deployed a significant amount of resources targeting his hideout, targeting his associates, and we want citizens to feel safe in that particular space," the policeman sought to assure.
