Police Say Death of Journalist Found Burnt in Vehicle in St Ann is Believed to be Drug Related

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: Detectives attached to the St Ann’s Bay CIB Department have now indicated that, despite the fact they are awaiting a DNA testing, all circumstantial evidence has indicated that the burnt body which was discovered over a week ago in a burnt, rented motor vehicle  in the parish on Monday morning, May 28, is that of Journalist and Disc Jockey, 54-years-old Anthony Gallimore of an England address and 10 A Aralia Drive,  Kingston 6.

Investigators also revealed that based on the investigations, so far they have reason to believe that Gallimore’s death could have been drug-related.

The deceased was last seen days after he rented a vehicle in Kingston on 20th of May, and later called in and extended the time.  When he was not heard from or seen, his friends got curious and reported him missing.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 9:30 a.m., residents of Claremont District in St Ann stumbled upon the burnt-out Nissan Tida motor car at a section of the roadway and raised an alarm.  The residents got curious and upon a closer observation of the vehicle, they discovered the burnt remains of a human body stuffed in the trunk.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, they carried out a series of investigations and discovered that the body was that of a man who appeared to have been shot multiple times and dumped inside the trunk of the vehicle which was set on fire.

Gallimore is said to be a popular Kingston based Disc Jockey and News Journalist who spent most of his time in England working at several radio stations and at various media houses.
