According to the police, two men were killed during a shootout with law enforcement in Riverton City in St Andrew on Monday.
It is reported that about 10:50 p.m., the police were on patrol in the community when they came under gunfire.
The police took evasive action and reportedly returned fire.
During a search of the area two unidentified men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Two firearms were also recovered after the incident.
The men were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The matter has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM).
The St Andrew South Police are investigating.
