LESOTHO international, Boitumelo ‘Queen’ Rabale, has set the bar high for herself in the 2023 Hollywoodbets Super League (HSL) campaign.

Rabale, who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in South Africa, said her target was to win the Golden Boot Award and also help the team retain the league title.

She also hopes to maintain her top form.

Rabale has scored three goals in the four matches that Mamelodi Sundowns have played this season.

In an interview with the Sunday Express, Rabale said she was happy with how she had started the season.

“Considering that I am a midfielder, I think I started the campaign very well scoring thrice in four games,” she said.

Rabale has been with Mamelodi Sundowns since April 2021. She was one of the team’s outstanding performers last season.

She scored 24 goals, making her the second highest scorer after Janine Van Wyk (JVK) FC’s Nompumelelo Nyandeni who netted 30.

Rabale was named Player of the Season in the HSL.

She also scored three goals in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League in Morocco in November last year.

Building on this, she said she wants to do even better this season.

And after failing to win the Golden Boot Award last year, Rabale said she was confident of bagging it this time.

“I am going to fight for the award this season and also help the team win competitions.”

She said her previous achievements motivated her to work harder.

“I managed to get some awards last season and this shows that I have potential to do even better. The focus now is on this current season. What I need to do is just to maintain my current form and work harder.”

Rabale said she was always striving for positive results because she hates losing.

“All my achievements are a result of the support I enjoy from the entire team, coaches, management and my teammates,” she said.
