Court Acquit ESCOM Employee Suspected Of Defiling Step-Daughter

Mulanje Senior Resident Magistrate Shaheeda Bakili has today, Friday acquitted an Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi Limited (ESCOM) employee, Gift Mulenga who was accused of defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter.

Magistrate Bakili in her ruling said the state has failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove their case against Mulenga.

Counsel George Kadzipatike who represented Mulenga told Zodiak Online that he is happy that his client has proved that he did not commit the offense.

Police Prosecutor Kelvin Lichapa who was prosecuting the case declined to comment on the matter.
