Youth foundation to open clinic

The Rob Youth Foundation plans to set up another youth health clinic in the Kavango East region.

According to its founder, Robert Maseka, the clinic is meant to provide young people in the region with sexual and reproductive health services.

He said this during a visit to Swapo’s regional leadership for advice on the foundation’s plans on Monday.

The foundation plans to establish a mobile clinic to provide outreach services in remote areas.

“The foundation believes remote areas contribute to the high rate of teenage pregnancy in the region the most,” Maseka said.

Additionally, the foundation briefed the regional team on planned projects, such as the implementation of agricultural projects to improve food security in the region.

Maseka emphasised the need for young people in the region to implement these projects.

“The Rob Youth Foundation is ready, but needs support. We need land to start agricultural projects, and we are urging the Swapo leadership to support us,” he said.

Maseka said the foundation has many initiatives to improve development in the Kavango East region, but requires resources and aid from the regional office.

“We believe through our engagement we will get all the support we need,” he said.

Swapo Youth League regional secretary Anselem Marungu commended the foundation for its great work done nationally in a short period of time, and assured said the party’s leadership would support the team in the region.

“You have met the right leadership, and I believe they will definitely support the request you have put forward,” Marungu said.
