Trump points finger at Zelensky for Ukraine war in podcast chat

In a podcast interview released today‚ former President Donald Trump shared his views on the Ukraine-Russia conflict. He directed criticism towards Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky suggesting he bears responsibility for the wars onset.

Trump remarked‚ “I think Zelensky is one of the greatest salesmen Ive ever seen Every time he comes in we give him $100 billion.“ He added‚ “Who else got that kind of money in history? Theres never been And that doesnt mean I dont want to help him because I feel very badly for those people But he should never have let that war start That war is a loser“

The ex-president met with Zelensky at Trump Tower roughly three weeks ago: their first encounter in about five years. Trump described having a “very good relationship“ with both Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump has maintained ties with Putin since leaving office‚ recently stating‚ “Russia has never had a president that they respect so much.“ Heʼs repeatedly implied that Russia wouldnt have invaded Ukraine if he were still in office.

At a recent campaign event Trump criticized Zelensky‚ saying‚ “We continue to give billions of dollars to a man who refuses to make a deal.“ This statement echoes his podcast remarks‚ where he suggested Zelensky could have prevented the conflict that began roughly two-and-a-half years ago
