U.S. clarifies role in Hamas leader's death

The U.S military has made it clear that it didnt take part directly in the operation that resulted in the death of Yahya Sinwar‚ a top Hamas leader Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder‚ speaking for the Pentagon‚ stated‚ “This was an Israeli operation There (were) no U.S forces directly involved“

However‚ Ryder pointed out that the U.S has been helping with information and intelligence about hostage recovery and tracking Hamas leaders responsible for holding hostages He added‚ “certainly that contributes in general to the picture“

The Pentagons statement came after President Biden talked about Sinwars death Biden said that following Hamas attack on Israel (which happened about a year ago) he told U.S special operations and intelligence staff to help Israel find Sinwar and other militant leaders

The United States has helped contribute information and intelligence as it relates to hostage recovery and the tracking and locating of Hamas leaders who have been responsible for holding hostages
