Young climber calls for stricter rules on world's highest peaks

Adriana Brownlee‚ a British mountaineer has made history as the youngest woman to conquer all 14 of the worlds highest mountains. The 24-year-old climber is now pushing for stricter rules on these towering peaks

Brownlee who scaled Mount Everest roughly 3 years ago‚ recently finished her quest to climb all peaks over 8000 meters (thats about 26‚247 feet). Sheʼs worried about unskilled climbers on these mountains – theyʼre putting themselves and others at risk

“Ive seen many examples of people in the mountains that should not really be there that should have more training beforehand‚“ Brownlee said. Sheʼs had to help climbers with basic tasks like putting on crampons and harnesses (these are essential climbing tools)

Brownlee thinks mountain authorities should make sure climbers have tackled smaller peaks first. This would help them handle the altitude and develop needed skills. Currently there arent many rules: in Nepal‚ you just need to be 16 and pay a fee

The young climberʼs passion started early – she was only 8 when she began dreaming of following in her fathers footsteps. Now‚ Brownlee plans to explore unclimbed peaks in Nepal and other parts of the world

Shes also opened a mountaineering company in Nepal. It focuses on helping customers who are skilled and experienced enough to handle the harsh mountain conditions

Brownlee hopes to inspire other young people: “For me the message is that in life... you can take any path you like to reach your goal‚“ she said. “That goal might be totally unique to you and its very important to keep at that and not to listen to rest of society what they have to say“

Nima Rinji Sherpa‚ now about 19-20 years old‚ joined Brownlee on her recent trip to Nepal. He holds the record as the youngest person to climb all 14 peaks
