A SMALL mission area of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Madang hosted a women’s conference with more than 700 delegates attending.

The 39th ELC Simbu district conference was held at Karani Lutheran mission station in Usino LLG last Sunday.

The church’s head of evangelism, Reverend Hans Giegere said usually such meets are hosted by circuits within that district, not at a district mission field like this one.

Rev Giegere said it was historic with ELC Simbu setting a record under the strong leadership of their leader, Agnes Gabee, coordinating women’s programs in the district.

“I want to tell all the women from ELC Simbu district here that your district is the only one that is active, strong, and vibrant in sharing the Gospel of God and expanding your reach to neighboring villages in other LLGs, provinces, and ELC districts,” Rev Giegere said.
