STUDENTS from Kopkop College in Port Moresby visited the Post Courier newsroom early this week as part of their lessons into ‘’script.’’

The total of 48 students from two classes of grade 8 were inquisitive as they asked the range of questions on how a newspaper company operates.

The visit was to better understand how to write scripts as it is one of the topics they covered in English class and to prepare for their English paper one exam.

The Post-Courier’s News Editor, Matthew Vari explained to the students on how stories were reported, the ups and downs of reporting in PNG and day to day operation of the newsroom.

The Editor explained the process on the different groups of officers work in 24 hours and also made them understand on the different sections of contents in the newspaper.

A Grade 8 teacher, Nalei Glenda explained that the main reason behind bringing all the students is to make students further understand the particular topic on script. She said they brought students to let them understand how scripts are written in the newspaper.

“Our Grade 8 students will sit for their English paper one exam on composition writing so the visit will help them to fully prepare them for the exam.”
