Pacific Break 2023 launched

ABC Pacific launched the Pacific Break 2023 at Lamana Gold Club on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Pacific Break is the biggest music competition in the Pacific that is held every year. The purpose of the competition is to look for the best original and unsigned talent from across the Pacific.

Danielle was last year’s Pacific Break winner and the first female from the Pacific to win the award.

Danielle’s Pacific Break documentary also premiered on the night showing footage of her reaction when she found out she had won the award. There were also sneak peeks from when Danielle performed at the WOMAdelaide (World of Music, Arts and Dance and the Adelaide Show) 2022 in Adelaide, Australia.

After the screening of the documentary, there was a panel discussion that featured Danielle, TV Presenter and journalist Tania Bale, DJ Hau Latukefu, and record producer Kerabangara Whewell.

There were 3 performances slated, with Ngaire opening the night and performing some of her hits. She, alongside her two backup vocalists, stole the show, ending it with the audience begging for more.

Now this is a stripped-down, acoustic performance that brought some jazzy feels to your doorsteps. With beautiful, heavenly harmonies adding flavor.

After a short break, Danielle took the stage and belted out some of her top hits, including a reggae rendition of Inaka Hamene. She was backed by the ever-reliable Cool Range Band.
Danielle brought the young artist Drip. Est on stage as a guest performer where they both performed their song ‘Say So’.

DJ Hau Latukefu closed the night with his mix tapes and got guests entertained to finish the night off beautifully.
