Pok: Clan vetting exercise to commence for Kutubu

The Minister for Petroleum Dr Fabian Pok yesterday announced the Clan vetting exercise for the Kutubu PDL 2 area.

Dr Pok says this is to finalize the Landowner Beneficiary Identification – (LOBID) or Clan Vetting process for Kutubu PDL 2 pursuant to Sections, 169 and 170 of the Oil and Gas Act.

“The State LOBID Team will be in Kutubu starting on the 27th of May 2019, to conduct awareness and commence the LOBID process.  All affected clan members or landowners are hereby advised to be at their respective villages to take part in this important activity.

“I appeal to all the Leaders of Kutubu PDL 2 Project area, to put your differences aside and work together for the benefit of all stakeholders.”

He said with the State clearing all landowner ownership issues this is one important area to close to ensure all rightful landowners are identified and benefits paid in accordance with law and proper processes.
