Security personnel are now on site at the Kopen Secondary School.

Police Commander Superintendent George Kakas said that, “The Kopen incident was an unfortunate incident where 4 landowners had an issue with the school over some project funding,which led to an argument with the school administration in the afternoon and developed into a physical altercation with the students at 7pm in the evening. “

PPC confirmed that one student was wounded in the leg, whilst an ancillary staff was wounded on the head.

“Both are in stable condition at the Wabag General hospital.”

The School classroom, a building housing 4 grade 10 classrooms was burnt to the Ground at about 2am in the morning.

Police are currently investigating.
