IT’S all good for candidates contesting in the Motu Koita Assembly election.
The candidates and their supporters have demonstrated the true spirit of the Motu Koita people in showing respect for the electoral process.
Motu Koita Assembly Election manager Terence Hetinu said since the issue of writs last week, the people have behaved fairly well.
“They have behaved in an orderly manner, making it easy for the electoral officers carry out their duties.
“They came quietly and followed the formalities of signing the nomination forms, followed by witnessing the electoral officers do the candidates draw. The Motu Koita people have depicted an image which is a reflection of the type of attitude and behaviour the rest of Papua New Guinea must adapt.
“They live in an urban setting and they understand the many awareness programs we carry out.
“It is absolutely fascinating to see these people show respect to our officers and it is an eye opener for rest of the country.
“I suppose this is going to be one of the best elections in the country and all the LLG and provincial governments elections must follow suit,” said Hetinu.
The campaign period will run until September 28 before the polling commence on October 2.
