The event began at 2pm and ended after 5am the next morning. When this publication got to the venue which was a little before 10pm, local Amapiano DJ, AyaCity was thrilling music lovers on the stage making sure the dance floor had people dancing. The artist was playing hit after hit including a very few of his own songs which the crowd was singing along to.

Up next was F3 Dipapa who stepped onto the stage in a black and white stripped outfit and black shades. The ‘Ulava Yini’ hitmaker was seen busting some killer moves and hitting the right tunes for his fans who cheered him on. The tone had been set and the next three acts who went up on stage had the same energy during their performances. SA music duo Zan’ten also thrilled with one of them on the decks and the other on the front of the stage holding it down on the mic.  The girls couldn’t contain their screams and the gents in the crowd also cheered and whistled loudly dancing along to the music played by the duo.

Local acts were not to be outdone as Bavarah who was clad in an orange t-shirt and shorts rocked the crowd, even stepping on the speakers at the front of the stage to get closer to the crowd. At 12:45am former Amaroto member, Zuma went up the stage with his signature phrase ‘Ahha’! The artist started off his set alongside Reece Madlisa’s hit single ‘Sithi sithi’ which also features the reason all the artists were there, Mr JazziQ. The first set of his performance included two of his backup dancers who added flare to the great performance.

Singing

Busta 929 also made way to the decks to give the people what they were asking for as the crowd kept singing, “Busta, we want to party.” This amped up the artist a lot, but he was slightly let down by the sound technical challenges that were experienced just as his set was starting. While the artist stepped aside to make sure that it was sorted, Destiny Group technicians came to the rescue to put everything in order. When the technical glitch was attended to, Busta was seen yet again making his way onto the decks where he left no nob unturned.
The surprise act of the event, and only SA artist to be announced on the day of the event, Okmalumkoolkat was seen behind the stage busting a few moves while his team made sure the sound and mic worked perfectly. The minute he stepped onto the stage, the crowd couldn’t be controlled as they tried to make their way to the artist to greet him, while he was warming up to his set. The artist went old school to the year 2016 and played hits including; ‘Amalobolo’ and ‘Gqi’ which made the crowd go ‘crazy’.

After being on stage for few minutes, the man who had put everything together, Mr JazziQ was spotted making his way behind the stage, peeping in on what the atmosphere was like on stage.  This was minutes before 4am in the morning and 10 minutes before 4am, the artist made his way to the decks to give his fans what they had been waiting for.  The Amapiano DJ and record producer certainly delivered a thrilling set,  he  also danced and engaged with the crowd and even gave an opportunity to the young MC Anthem who was at the venue to dance while he was deejaying. The night or rather morning was far from over, as more artists were scheduled to perform after the artist including Pcee, DJ Zulu D and Sbu De Drum DJ.
