MBABANE – Renowned information and technology (IT) company Slomoes Corporation has given wings to promotion hopefuls Ezulwini United.

The Eswatini company that has a footprint in the Southern African Region presented the National First  Division (NFD) giants with an enormous E200 000, which is a biggest sponsor for a team in the NFD. It is even more than the E180 000 first prize for winners in the country’s football second-tier. When announcing the sponsorship at  the company’s offices  in Mbabane this past Tuesday, Slomoes Human Resources Manager Nomhle Mahhwayi said coming on board was prompted by, among other things, the desire to have a healthy and active nation on top unearthing talent for the senior national team, Sihlangu.

“We want to help them grow. Through football, they also get to play outside the country. “Other companies should also support teams, as we’ve seen others perish due to lack of resources,” she said. An elated Ezulwini United Director Polycarp Dlamini felt the support was a timely boost in their bid to reclaim their Premier League status. At the time of compiling this report, Ezulwini United were third and only behind second-placed Illovo on inferior head-to-head. The two top teams after round 26 will get promoted to the Premier League. “As we fight for promotion, we will be motivated. We’re appreciative for the support from a big company like Slomoes that is widely known, as it has assisted in the national elections. This is a call to fully embrace the company,” he said. Among those witnessing the presentation were the ambitious side’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nsindiso Tsabedze, Marketing Officer Ayanda Masilela and Captain Mphucuko ‘Smoothies’ Dlamini.
