Adams, Nadler boast NYC is best choice for 2024 Democratic National Convention

Saying New York City is just what their party needs to retain the presidency, Mayor Eric Adams and Rep. Jerry Nadler teamed up Saturday in a full-court press for the Big Apple to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

“The Democratic convention will get media wherever it goes, but in New York, it’ll get more media,” said Nader, D-NY, during a Midtown rally attended by roughly 100 union leaders, pols and other supporters.

“The Democratic National Committee, if it wants to maximize the odds of winning, and to support … union jobs and organizations — it has to be New York.”

New York is the “safest big city” in America, Adams boasted, and the only logical spot to host the convention.

“There’s something special about this city, and the DNC holding this convention here would send a message that there’s something special about America,” Adams said.

Besides New York, Chicago and Atlanta are also being considered to host the convention.

While many close to him reportedly expect President Joe Biden to seek re-election in 2024, the 80-year-old Democrat has yet to kick off a campaign.

The Big Apple last hosted the DNC in 1992 when Bill Clinton got the Democratic nominee before ultimately being elected president.

If New York is chosen, Madison Square Garden would be the central site for the event, and the nearby, newly expanded Javits Center would host other gatherings.

In 2016, the city under then-Mayor Bill de Blasio fell short its bid to bring the DNC to Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

When asked how that bid compared to the city’s latest attempt to score the convention, Adams deflected the question and said: “We are going to make it happen!”
