‘American Horror Story’ Teases NYC-Set Season with Chilling New Posters

American Horror Story is heading to the city that never sleeps for its latest installment — which is sure to keep viewers up all night. The Ryan Murphy series revealed the title of Season 11, American Horror Story: NYC, today, and spilled the spooky show’s all-star cast while lightly teasing the chilling premise of the upcoming episodes.

This season, we can expect to see the return of AHS veterans like Billie Lourd, Zachary Quinto, Russell Tovey, Leslie Grossman, Sandra Bernhard, Isaac Powell, Denis O’Hare and Patti LuPone. But Murphy is also bringing new blood into his horror powerhouse, tapping Charlie Carver and Joe Mantello for AHS: NYC.

Not only that, but the new season will be coming at you in a speed that would make NYC proud: two episodes will drop premiere day, and two additional episodes will drop every week thereafter; meaning this season will be five weeks long.

As for what the new season is actually about, all we can really do is guess. The key art released by FX today includes two images of figures dressed in vaguely punk-inspired looks, suggesting the show could take place in the ’70s.

And the AHS Twitter account kept the mystery going, announcing the new season with a cryptic tweet reading, “New City. New Fears.”

If you’ve been a fan of AHS over the years, you’re familiar with the show’s top-secret roll-out of new seasons, so today’s vague announcement should come as no surprise. But then again, if you’re a longtime viewer, you also know to decipher the clues dropped by FX before every season.

Last time around, we were tasked with decoding the art that dropped ahead of AHS: Double Feature, which hinted at the show’s split premise with images from the beach, which referenced the sea and sand theme of the season.

AHS first kicked off in 2011 with its very first season, Murder House, which was followed by Asylum (Season 2), Coven (Season 3), Freak Show (Season 4), Hotel (Season 5), Roanoke (Season 6), Cult (Season 7), Apocalypse (Season 8), 1984 (Season 9) and most recently, Double Feature, which premiered in 2021.

If you still can’t crack the AHS: NYC clues, you won’t have to wait long to get your answer, because the season premiere is just a few weeks away.

American Horror Story: NYC premieres Oct. 19 at 10/9c on FX and will be available to watch the next day on Hulu.
