AOC storms away from ‘Libs of TikTok’ creator on Capitol Hill

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) angrily stormed away from “Libs of TikTok” creator Chaya Raichik after denouncing her as “super transphobic” in a tense Capitol Hill confrontation that was captured by amateur video last week.

Raichik on Thursday posted a video that was filmed by the right-leaning Heritage Foundation.

The “Libs of TikTok” creator confronted Ocasio-Cortez after the two bumped into each other in the congressional building.

“You’re actually super transphobic and I never want to share a space with you,” the New York congresswoman angrily told Raichik in the clip before walking away.

“Thank you,” Ocasio-Cortez says in the clip as she gestures to a nearby cell phone camera which captured the dramatic exchange.

Raichik tweeted that she was on Capitol Hill to serve Ocasio-Cortez with an ethics complaint “after she lied about me in a committee hearing.”

Raichik is seen in the clip alongside Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project.

The two are delivering an ethics complaint to the office of the congresswoman who represents parts of Queens and the Bronx.

The complaint that was filed by Heritage accuses Ocasio-Cortez of “defaming” Raichik during a Feb. 8 hearing of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.

During the hearing, Ocasio-Cortez claimed that Raichik lied when she asserted that Boston Children’s Hospital was “now offering ‘gender affirming hysterectomies’ for young girls.”

“Are you aware… that from Aug. 11 to Aug. 16 that account posted false information about Boston Children’s Hospital claiming that they were providing hysterectomies to children?” Ocasio-Cortez asked a former Twitter executive about Raichik’s tweet.

“And are you aware that this lie was then circulated by other prominent far-right influencers?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.

The nine-page complaint submitted by the Heritage Foundation alleges that Ocasio-Cortez broke ethics rules by “knowingly and intentionally defaming Chaya Raichik, creator of the viral Libs of TikTok account, falsely accusing her of lying and disseminating disinformation…”

The Post has sought comment from Ocasio-Cortez, who has yet to publicly respond to the complaint.

Last year, Facebook banned “Libs of TikTok” after staffers at Boston Children’s Hospital said they received threats following a post that alleged minors were being given hysterectomies as part of gender-affirming surgeries.
