Bison Gore, 71-year-old woman in Yellowstone's second attack this week

According to the NPS, all three incidents are under investigation. Authorities emphasized in statements that visitors must be at least 75 feet away from all bison to reduce the risk of attack. The bull bison can grow to 6 feet tall and weigh2,000 pounds, similar to the one that hit tourists.

NPS also announced on Thursdaythat part of the park's north loop will be reopened to visitors on July 2, a few weeks after authorities closed the park area due to floods. Did.
