Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet put on hold

Were all those guitar lessons for nothing?

A Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet as the iconic folk-rocker has been put on ice, according to the project’s cinematographer.

Page Six previously reported that Chalamet has been seen around town with a Gibson guitar case headed to lessons for the film, which was to be directed by James Mangold.

But in a new interview with Collider, cinematographer Phedon Papamichael let it slip that the Dylan project is on hold.

“I don’t think it’s dead, but it’s a tough one to pull off in a COVID-era because it’s all in small clubs with lots of extras in period costumes, so you’ve got lots of hair and makeup,” he told the film website. “So our next project is ‘Indiana Jones 5,’ actually. Mangold’s doing that.”

Papamichael is known for working on past Mangold projects, such as “Ford v Ferrari,” as well as movies by Alexander Payne, and Aaron Sorkin’s new film, “The Trial Of The Chicago 7.”

Chalamet next stars in the upcoming sci-fi epic, “Dune,” out next year.
