Super Bowl LVII prop bet pick

For most viewers, the most interesting part of the Super Bowl is the game itself or the commercials. For some, it’s about which team scores first or the color of Gatorade dumped onto the winning head coach.

Those in the latter group are considering all sorts of prop bets for the big game, so which one to choose? FanDuel Sportsbook lists Patrick Mahomes at +120 to win Super Bowl MVP, and I think that is a wise bet.

If the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles, it’s hard to imagine any other Chiefs player winning MVP over Mahomes. He’s the best quarterback in the league and Kansas City will almost certainly have to score a good chunk of points to get the victory.

Also, who else on the Chiefs is a reasonable candidate to win MVP other than Mahomes? Only two players come to mind, those being defensive tackle Chris Jones and tight end Travis Kelce. The All-Pro tight end would be catching touchdowns from Mahomes, so Mahomes would probably still win it even if Kelce has a great game. Jones has a better chance, but it would require him to play a truly outstanding game and for Mahomes to have an average game, and both of those happening seems very unlikely.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is listed at +125 on FanDuel, but there are more candidates to win it on Philadelphia. Edge rusher Haason Reddick, one of the Eagles defensive backs, or running backs Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell could throw a wrench into Hurts’ MVP chances if Philadelphia wins.

Mahomes is the most obvious choice here, so use the FanDuel promo code if you also think #15 will win his second Super Bowl MVP award.
