Florida teen loses part of his leg in a shark attack on Friday Is in a critical situation. A popular beach,officials said.
The girl was playing in the water at 5 feet in Taylor County around 3 pm. On Thursday, a shark, estimated to be nine feet long, suddenly attacked her.
Her relatives desperately boarded the waves and beat the sharks until they grabbed her bloody girl.
The Taylor County Sheriff's Office reportedly said in a statement posted on Facebook that "the family jumped into the water and beat the shark until the boy was free." Said.
Emergency response personnel were airlifted to Tallahassee Hospital, about 80 miles away, after treating a seriously injured girl on the beach.
She had surgery around 6 pm. And she lost part of her leg, officials said. According to WCTV, she is expected to survive.
Officials said the teen was scalloping with members of her family when the shark attacked.
