HBO Max Returns To Amazon Channels After A Lengthy Absence: Try It Free For 7 Days!

Sometimes, you get the best of both worlds. Amazon’s Prime Video has announced that HBO Max is returning as a channel, which means you can shop for a new holiday dress, binge watch A League of Their Own, and check out new episodes of The White Lotus all at the same place.

Prime Video and HBO Max went through a rocky patch in their relationship during HBO’s AT&T era, which resulted in HBO being pulled from Amazon’s channels in September 2021 under the guise of wanting a more “direct relationship” with its consumers.

At the time, Bloomberg reported that the decision cost the company nearly 5 million subscribers. But now, with the big merge of AT&T, WarnerMedia, and Discovery, it seems as thought their priorities have shifted.

The new deal between the two streaming platforms will extend through 2024 and will grant Prime Video subscribers who subscribe to the HBO Max channel access to the anticipated HBO Max/Discovery+ service (rumored to be called Max) next spring, per Variety.

Sign up for a 7-day free trial of HBO Max via Amazon Channels

The HBO Max channel on Prime Video costs $14.99 (the same price of HBO Max’s ad-free subscription) after a 7-day trial and gives access to 15,000 hours of content from Warner Bros. Discovery, including HBO’s Game of Thrones, Succession, and The Sopranos, and movies and shows that fall under the DC Comics, Turner Classics Movies, and Cartoon Network label.

Cem Sibay, Vice President of Prime Video, said in a statement, “It’s truly been a milestone year for Prime Video, and we are humbled by the viewer engagement and critics’ response to our marquee releases. Now with the addition of HBO Max again, customers can easily add this subscription and enjoy even more award-winning and fan favorite entertainment on Prime Video.”

HBO Max isn’t the only channel on Prime Video, the streaming service also offers access to Starz, Showtime, Paramount+, AMC+, and more. While the channels are not part of the Prime subscription and come with an added cost, its main advantage is that it allows these streaming services to live in one centralized location.
