I have a genius hack to sneak wine into events — people call me ‘Christ-like’

This sneaky wine hack wasn’t in pour taste.

Alexandria Funnell has been hailed a genius for her money-saving musical festival tip: To outsmart security, she hid a whole bottle of wine in a loaf of sourdough bread.

The 34-year-old posted her wine smuggling lifehack to TikTok earlier this month, stunning over five million viewers who called her trick “Christ-like.”

Funnell and her friend Lauren refused to spend the evening at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on March 3 waiting in line for libations while watching the band Bon Iver.

“It’s a bit silly and ridiculous but there’s always such a big line for drinks so I thought maybe we should smuggle in some wine,” the TV producer recalled to Southwest News Service. “I prioritize comfort and practicality at concerts.”

Plus, the self-declared “rule bender and opportunistic” person said she “already paid $200 for a ticket” and wanted to save some money.

And so a lightbulb went off in her head and she purchased a $1.75 piece of bread to hollow out as a cover for the bottle.

Once the loaf was empty, she snuck in a $15 cabernet sauvignon bottle to bypass security at the venue, which allowed outside food to be brought in.

Her hack worked like a charm — “We got past security,” the Australian native said — and the pair managed not to get caught by pouring the wine into cups.

And best of all, she noted, they “didn’t end up lining up for drinks.”

After her TikTok went viral, many users dubbed her a “modern savior,” she said.

“You’re Jesus,” someone commented, while another added, “This feels biblical.”

“Jesus said bread and wine,” noted another user.

Others called her a “legend” for bringing in wine and one hilariously told her she was “unhinged.”

Fennell said her pal Lauren also “snuck in a flask of whiskey,” though she didn’t reveal how.

“There was something beautiful about whiskey and wine and listening to Bon Iver under the stars,” Fennell said.

The bread didn’t go to waste, either. Fennell said she used it to make a yummy cheesy garlic bread snack once she got home from the concert.
