The sister of slain University of Idaho student Kaylee Goncalves said in heartbreaking new video she is still in denial over the brutal murder of her sibling and wants her “old life back.”
Autumn Goncalves took to Instagram to mourn the loss of her 21-year-old sister, who was slaughtered along with her best friend Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, and Xana Kernodle, 20, at an off-campus house in Moscow, Idaho, in November.
Autumn posted several emotional clips, including one of herself missing Kaylee’s advice.
“Remembering I have my older sister when stuff gets hard,” she captioned the video, where she is seen crying in bed.
“I’ll be in denial forever. What about the plans we made?”
In other videos showing the tight-knit siblings, she said she “wanted her old life back” and begged for just “five more minutes” with Kaylee.
The grieving sister said some days it is hard to live “normally.”
“I want you all to know I’m okay! I have my days as anyone else would. My grief comes and goes in waves & that’s normal & natural,” Autumn said.
“I miss my sister more than anything but I know that they just want me to be happy & live my life. However, some days it’s really hard for me to ‘love’ my life ‘normally.’
“My sister would be so happy with me for letting everyone know exactly who she was, and that’s why I post about it.”
Bryan Kohberger, 28, a former criminology doctoral student at Washington State University, was arrested in late December on four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary.
The suspect, who has not yet entered a plea, awaits a preliminary hearing in late June.
