Jordan Poyer’s wife, Rachel Bush, hints at Cowboys curiosity in free agency

It appears Rachel Bush has the Lone Star state on her mind.

When taking part in an Instagram “ask me anything” on Monday, the wife of Bills safety Jordan Poyer was asked if she could convince the Buffalo defender to be a Dallas Cowboy.

“He knows I wanna live in Texas,” Bush responded in an Instagram Story, adding, “FA [free agent] this year.”

An 11-year NFL veteran, Poyer has spent the past six seasons with the Bills and is in the final year of his contract. He previously expressed his desire to remain in Buffalo long-term.

“We have approached the Bills about extending Jordan’s contract, as he would like to finish his career in Buffalo,” Poyer’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told The Buffalo News in April.

Prior to the start of the regular season, ESPN’s Field Yates reported in September that the Bills and Poyer agreed to a reworked deal, increasing the amount Poyer could potentially earn through incentives from $500,000 to $2 million.

“Jordan appreciates this good will gesture by the Bills as we continue to work for a contract extension,” Rosenhaus said.

Beyond Rosenhaus, Bush has continuously championed the 2021 All-Pro, who recorded five interceptions and three sacks through 16 regular-season games last year.

Poyer has been dealing with multiple injuries this year, including with his ribs and elbow. He has played in six games so far and has logged four interceptions. He came back from his elbow injury in Week 11 and has helped push the Bills to back-to-back wins.

The Bills, who improved their record to 8-3 with a Thanksgiving win over the Lions, will next face the Patriots on “Thursday Night Football.”
