Jordyn Woods reveals she brought Karl-Anthony Towns to hospital with mystery illness

Timberwolves forward Karl Anthony Towns is feeling much better after a trip to the hospital, according to his girlfriend Jordyn Woods.

Towns — who signed a $224 million super-max extension in July — missed the team’s media day last Monday due to a non-COVID illness.

Woods took to her Instagram story on Sunday to share that Towns is on the mend. The model shared that she transported the All-Star forward to a hospital in Minnesota after the two celebrated her 25th birthday in Los Angeles last week.

“On FaceTime yesterday,” Woods wrote over a smiling photo of Towns, who was pictured in a car. “Happy he’s finally feeling better.. I had to take him to the hospital when we got to Minnesota right after my birthday.. what a week.. excited to see what you do this season @karltowns.”

Woods, who turned 25 on Sept. 23, celebrated her birthday with Towns and friends in a “backyard wonderland” party, as seen in photos she shared to Instagram. Towns gifted Woods with a vow to fund two businesses that she “wants to start.”

It’s unclear exactly what illness sent Towns to the hospital and caused him to miss the Timberwolves’ media day last week.

Coach Chris Finch said Saturday that the team hopes Towns will be back doing “low-level” basketball activities this week.

Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly said Towns’ illness isn’t expected to affect his availability for training camp.

In 74 appearances last season, Towns averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.0 steals in 33.5 minutes per game.

The Timberwolves open their 2022-23 season Oct. 19 at Target Center against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
