Knicks target Donovan Mitchell appears at Rucker Park

It's a streetball mecca today. Basketball mecca tomorrow?

Donovan Mitchell showed up at Rucker Park on Thursday night. This was his last off-season tour, and he was touring around the country, especially around New York City, for this jazz star.

Fans of his basketball championship in Harlem flocked as soon as Mitchell arrived. The Elmsford native posed for a photo shoot, signed a few autographs, and sat next to rapper Fat his Joe in his off-the-gate section behind the bass line.

Mitchell, who handed out sneakers to young fans at halftime, didn't wear any jazz gear, just expressing himself. It looked like A hat with the "Spida" logo.

Mitchell's handlers have said the star won't take questions from the media. That's it.

This summer, Mitchell, who was a regular at the Mets (and sometimes its affiliates), made it clear in public, if not in public terms, that he loved New York.

The three-time All-Star is Mets executive Donovan and his senior son Mitchell. The Jazz star played batting practice at Citi Field and Brooklyn and threw the first pitch before thegame against the Cyclones.

During this off-season, security guards were active around New York, but they also traveled to other cities. According to the viral footage, Mitchell was recently in Miami, teaming with Heat star Bam Adebayo in the Pro-Am League.

If Mitchell moves, Utah will have a suitor. The Athletic reported this week that theKnicks and the Jazz have re-engaged in trade talks over Mitchell after weeks of silence.

On Thursday he was looking at the house while greeting people and watching basketball. Is his next home a garden?
