Kyrie Irving, Dave Portnoy seemingly agree to pickup game in continued Twitter spat

It must be boring when your team is not in the NBA Finals.

And since there is no Celtics-Mavericks championship, Dave Portnoy and Kyrie Irving are taking their frustrations out on each other — again.

Portnoy has spoken out about the enigmatic Irving ever since the 2019 offseason — before the guard even left for the Nets.

And the two went back and forth earlier this week in their beef, and Friday night proved to be an entertaining follow-up.

Portnoy tweeted about Insider’s strike and then, for some reason, mentioned Irving at the end and said, “Ps – @KyrieIrving so far so good on the Karma police.”

This was in reference to an Irving tweet from the previous exchange in which the Dallas guard said, “Make sure you’re taking care of yourself David. You can only run your mouth for so long before Karma catches up. Be well.”

On Friday, Irving said he was “here” if Portnoy wanted to take him on in “ones” instead of chatting on Twitter.

I get it David. Enjoy these clips for
Now. And if you ever wanna lace ‘‘em up and play ones and earn my respect, instead of always running your mouth,
I am here.

Portnoy replied in a quote tweet, saying he’ll take up Irving in a 1-on-1.

The Barstool founder was outwardly confident in his abilities to take on the NBA player.

“I’ll beat you 21-17,” Portnoy asserted.

“I’ll back you down in the paint 17 times and shoot 4 jumpers right in your face,” the roughly 5-foot-11 Portnoy tweeted at Irving, who is 6 foot 2.

“Name a time and place. But no healthy scratches. When I say I’m gonna do something I do it.

With his reply, Irving seemed up for the game.

How about we do it in SwampScott, Massachusetts or at TD Garden David? I want to make sure this 1v1 is on your turf, in your hometown. I’ll bring my A11even Tribe(Army).

And after we play, you can take us all around your hometown and we break

Irving replied that if the two did play, they could hit the courts in Massachusetts so Portnoy could have a bit of home-court advantage.

“How about we do it in SwampScott, Massachusetts or at TD Garden David?” Irving said. “I want to make sure this 1v1 is on your turf, in your hometown. I’ll bring my A11even Tribe(Army). And after we play, you can take us all around your hometown and we break Bread at your Parents crib.”

If the two did play each other, it could be a showcase of sorts for Irving, who is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Irving, who has not yet decided where he’ll sign, did reportedly recruit LeBron James to reunite with him in Dallas after the two helped bring Cleveland an NBA title in 2016.
