Jump rope instructor convicted after woman falls to death

In Kazakhstan, a married mother of three spent four years as a jump rope instructor after falling from a height of 100 feet in front of her horrified husband.

Alexander Muznikas, 33, died at a rope jumping attraction in Karaganda, Kazakhstan on Thursday, October 10, 2021, after Evgenia Leontyeva, 33, died. Judgment was handed down.

Muznicas, who was convicted of providing services that did not meet safety regulations and causing death due to negligence, said in court that he categorically rejected the prosecution's charges against him.

The Russian-language news site eKaraganza.kz reported that Mr. Muznikas told the court: "My actions were never intended to hurt anyone, let alone hurt anyone." It didn't cause death," he said.

Muznikas also resented that he was the only one to be tried in connection with the woman's death.

"My wife was crushed in front of her," said Tkachenko.

In harrowing cell phone footage, Tkachenko can be heard shouting "I love you!" to his wife in Russian. Followed by the screams of shocked bystanders seconds before her body hits the concrete pavement.
