(CNN)Ali Alexander, leader of the "Stop the Steal" group that helped organize the US Congress A rally was held prior to the Capitol attack and was testified to a federal grand jury on Friday in a thorough investigation by the Justice Department regarding the January 6, 2021 riots.
CNN has found Alexander entering and exiting a federal court in Washington, DC, where a federal grand jury gathers to hear about January 6th. He spent about four hours in court in a closed room on Friday.
Alexander did not answer the question at the courthouse. He has not been charged with a crime.
CNN has previously unearthed a video of Alexander saying he would contact the Proud Boys and the Orskipers to provide security for the event in Washington, DC. Leaders in both groups have been charged with sedition conspiracy and are being tried later this year.
