Uma Thurman plans to sell posh River House co-op

Uma Thurman has begun talks to list her pad in the posh River House co-op, sources tell Gimme Shelter exclusively.

The 13-room home at 435 E. 52nd St., with views of the East River, comes with four bedrooms, three maids’ rooms, two woodburning fireplaces, an eat-in kitchen and a bar.

She bought the swanky pad for $10 million in 2013 from romance novelist Barbara Taylor Bradford — far less than the home’s 2010 asking price of $18.99 million.

(There’s no word yet on what she’ll ask when she puts the apartment on the market. River House apartments publicly listed for sale range from a two-bedroom, three-bathroom pad asking $3.75 million to a seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom duplex asking $18.5 million. In 2016, Thurman sold her Gramercy Park duplex for $6.61 million, well over its $6.25 million asking price.)

While she enjoys the peace and solitude of her stately residence, where neighbors include billionaire Wilbur Ross Jr., Boston Bruins owner Jeremy Jacobs, former diplomat Henry Kissinger and banking mogul Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, we hear that she longs for a more lively neighborhood.

She has begun a house hunt downtown that includes off-market “whisper” listings — units that aren’t publicly listed — centering on neighborhoods like Tribeca and Soho.

Thurman — whose February New York Times piece about her experience with Harvey Weinstein’s inappropriate behavior made waves in recent weeks — has also been looking at condos, which do not involve cumbersome board applications and interviews with board members.

Her brother (who is also her broker) Kunsang Mipam Thurman, of Compass, declined to comment.
