The Washington, DC bridge was closed after people scaled the archway to protest the Roe v. Wade case.

On Friday, a man climbing the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C. protested the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Roe v. Wade case.

The man who revealed himself as Guido Reichstadter on Twitter started climbing the bridge around 11:00 am, according toFOX 5 DC. While the man was on the bridge, traffic stopped when authorities tried to contact him.

Around 12:00 pm, a large inflatable was placed under the demonstrator.

Reichstadter posted on Twitterwhile on the bridge at 3:24 pm, saying, "Nonviolent every day until [sic] rights are protected. Let's close the bridge. " The height of the archway is 70 feet.

The Department of Transportation has announced that the bridge has been closed.
