Wednesday's spring recap: Brewers 11, White Sox 3

The White Sox fell behind the Brewers by seven runs after two innings and weren’t able to recover during an 11-3 loss in Cactus League play Wednesday at Maryvale Baseball Park.

The defeat snapped the Sox’s two-game winning streak and they now stand at 9-9-2 in spring play.

At the plate: Yolmer Sanchez and Tim Anderson each had a hit and an RBI for the Sox.

Ryan Braun was 2-for-2 with two home runs—including a grand slam—and five RBIs for the Brewers.

On the mound: Carson Fulmer had another rough outing, allowing seven runs on five hits with three walks. Brian Clark, Chris Volstad and Robbie Ross Jr. each had scoreless outings.

In the field: In the bottom of the third, Tim Anderson started a nifty double play with second baseman Yoan Moncada when the shortstop ranged to his left and flipped the ball to his Sox teammate, who caught it bare-handed and fired to first.

The quote: “It's a game of inches. You throw a pitch on the plate a couple more inches that you wanted to, guys are going to barrel it. It's frustrating but I'm definitely in a good place right now. I'll take full opportunity of where I'm at right now and I'll definitely get ready for when the time comes for the season to start.” – Fulmer
