Recall Gascon spokesman Tim Lineberger said staff had evacuated because the envelope was sent to the office on Thursday in one of the petition envelopes for return.
There was a white powdery substance in it, which brought out the words of the curse and the swastika, Lineberger told The Post.
LAPD was immediately summoned and responded with a squad of dangerous goods and bombs, Lineberger said.

Tim Rosales of the Recall Gascon campaign tweeted a photo ofan envelopewith white powder spread on a table.

When the envelope was opened, seven volunteers and staff were in the office, Lineberger said.
"Everyone is fine," Lineberger said. "This is a very important time (in the recall campaign) and we are losing time, but of course our first and most important concern is our staff and volunteers."
Lineberger said the office had previously received harassment emails, but to this day has not shattered or made racist statements. He said people in the office were told to leave while police officers in hazmat suits were looking at the substance.
No injuries have been reported so far.
Therecall effort against Gascon has gained momentum in recent weeks due to growing anger at his soft policy against crime. He was heated byrecently making a plea bargain in 2021 on suspicion of a gun with a man who only brought probationary periods.
