DIE HEUWELS FANTASTIES RELEASE ‘BELLVILLE’

Bellville is the only single on Die Heuwels Fantasties’ upcoming album, C’est La Vie, without any features. The track was written by vocalist Pierre Greeff’s spose, Jani Greeff.

“I lose my father at a young age and so the concept of phoning your dad when you are in a pinch is sometimes hard for me to understand,” explained Jani.

“When I die, I hope it’s him who comes to fetch me. Who knows where our final home is?”

Janie jokingly adds: “But whoever shows up to give me a lift to the final spot, will have to pick me up at the corner of Jip and Kommissaries Street (a crossing in the hometown, Bellville).”

‘LAYERED IN BOTH POETRY AND MUSICALITY’

Hunter Kennedy, Die Heuwels Fantasties’ guitarist described the song as a “melancholy-tinged ponderance that builds to an ecstatic wash of folk instrumentation”.

“Showcasing the existential dread in everyday suburban mundanity, Bellville is layered both in poetry and musicality,” added Kennedy.

The music video for Bellville was portly shot during the recording of the heartwarming track. Filmmaker Damiane van Heerden was the brains behind the making of the music video.
